His word can NEVER return void. Not now, not EVER.
We have to hold His words so close to our heart, friend. The Bible says Mary treasured God’s promises in her heart.
She meditated on them. She pondered them. She took them in and kept them close.
When her circumstances looked the exact OPPOSITE of what God told her, she believed His word even MORE strongly.
‘Great favour is upon you, for you have believed every word spoken to you from the Lord.’
Let’s be people who believe every word God speaks to us. Let’s saturate ourselves with God’s promises, even if everything around us looks the opposite.
‘Everyone who heard the shepherds’ story was astonished by what they were told. But Mary treasured all these things in heart and often pondered what they meant.’

Daily Devotion: Intentional Kindness
The Bible in One Year: Daniel 1–2; 1 John 4
Today's Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 9:3–11
I want to show God’s kindness to them. 2 Samuel 9:3 NLT
Boarding a plane alone with her children, a young mom tried desperately to calm her three-year-old daughter who began kicking and crying. Then her hungry four-month-old son also began to wail.
A traveler seated next to her quickly offered to hold the baby while Jessica got her daughter buckled in. Then the traveler—recalling his own days as a young dad—began coloring with the toddler while Jessica fed her infant. And on the next connecting flight, the same man offered to assist again if needed.
Jessica recalled, “I [was] blown away by God’s hand in this. [We] could have been placed next to anyone, but we were seated next to one of the nicest men I have ever met.”
In 2 Samuel 9, we read of another example of what I call intentional kindness. After King Saul and his son Jonathan had been killed, some expected David to kill off any competition to his claim for the throne. Instead, he asked, “Is there no one still alive from the house of Saul to whom I can show God’s kindness?” (v. 3). Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s son, was then brought to David who restored his inheritance and warmly invited him to share his table from then on—just as if he were his own son (v. 11).
As beneficiaries of the immense kindness of God, may we look for opportunities to show intentional kindness toward others (Galatians 6:10).

Who can you show God’s kindness to? What specific act of kindness can you demonstrate to someone who is hurting or discouraged?
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the kindness You’ve shown me. Help me to lavish it on others.
This is sometimes so much easier said than actually believed.
But the truth is, God uses every part of your life to prepare you for where He’s called you. No experience, season, relationship, or encounter is for nothing. Nothing is wasted, and He is using everything to prepare you for where you’re going. There are times in our lives that don’t make sense to us in the moment, and we wonder about the purpose for that time, relationship, or experience. The truth is that you have been prepared, even though it might have seemed like a waste or an accident in the moment. Even the times that you feel like you’ve made a mistake, and you’ve even messed up your destiny or your future, even then God is using all those things to work together for your good. It is key that you keep moving forward. You are going somewhere, and God is leading you to where you need to be at exactly the right time. It’s possible that the “accident” helped you get to where you needed to be in the end. This month, God is working with your choices, decisions, happenings, and mistakes to propel you along your journey to where He’s calling you.

Your position doesn’t make you significant.
Your talent doesn’t make you significant.
Your hard work doesn’t make you significant.
How well-known you are doesn’t make you significant.
You know what makes you significant? Jesus.
His love for YOU makes you significant.
Your love for Him comes from His love for YOU.
There’s nothing you could do and nothing anyone could ever give you that would make you more significant than you already are RIGHT NOW in Christ Jesus.
We need to stop putting our destiny in the hands of people who were never meant to hold it. We need to stop doing things so people can tell us who we are and what we’re capable of...because God has already labelled us CHOSEN. WANTED. SEEN. KNOWN. BEAUTIFUL. ACCEPTED. UNIQUE. And so much more...
So friend, I want to encourage you to lay down the desires of your heart so GOD can be the one to fulfil them.
Because at the end of the day, we’re not following a dream - we’re following JESUS. And worship isn’t just singing a song, it’s laying down your LIFE.
EVERY AREA of your life.
Saying yes to God actually propels you forward towards everything you’re believing for…even when it feels like you just took twenty steps back. Being willing to sacrifice your Isaac at the altar is the embodiment of what it means to lay down your life to truly find it.

If we don’t feel the fear, we won’t have the opportunity to move THROUGH the fear.
If we don’t feel anxious, we won’t have the opportunity to experience peace that transcends all understanding.
So often we want the fear to go away…but courage is actually feeling the fear and doing it anyway.
Fear is a natural response in our body - the fight or flight response is actually trying to protect us.
The problem comes when we choose to PARTNER with it and let it control us or hold us back. Because that’s allowing ourselves to come under a SPIRIT of fear…which never comes from God.
But we won’t get to experience the power, love and sound mind that Jesus won for us on the cross until we’re put in a situation where we actually need to reach out and take hold of them.
So don’t ever shame yourself for feeling fear or anxiety in your life. You are HUMAN, and God LOVES your humanity.
And He loves when you choose to keep moving forward and trust His word, despite how you feel.
