When all those trips to ikea pay off and you reuse their packing paper to wrap gifts 💫
I’ve been saving these up the last month along with packaging paper from several packages I’ve received and now putting them to better use!
— I recently dried some orange slices to use as decor for my gifts and added some twine + wild grass that I’ve had since last year when my crazy ass decided to run outside with a pair of scissors and snip a few from outside our neighbors window 😅
REUSE af this Christmas! ...
🍴”It’s just a fork..” 🍴
It’s easy to take plastic cutlery from a food vendor and think of it as just one fork.. but the problem is that fork and knife and spoon quickly multiply to a million forks.
Here’s some food for thought...
🍴 252,000 tonnes of plastic goes to NZ landfills each year (so much for recycling...)
🍴 Well, what if you do recycle it? Turns out cutlery is unlikely to be recycled as it is usually contaminated and is made from such a low grade plastic, it is useless for repurposing. (Bummer...)
🍴 There aren’t clear stats for NZ but in the US 40 BILLION plastic utensils are estimated to be wasted EACH YEAR (Those one forks really do add up!) ♻️ There’s good news though! The New Zealand Government is moving to ban single use plastic cutlery along with other single use items. But you don’t have to wait!
